‘Space’ – everyone wants their own, I guess! While my search continues in reality, the deal is much easier in the virtual world…hence this blog!
I look at a blog as a form of expression – like art maybe, in the sense that what the rest of the world thinks about it sort of makes or breaks it. Sure the artist is satisfied the moment his/her work turns out the way he/she intended it to be. If it reflects the artist’s mind exactly, it is technically a success. But it needs the approval of others to find its place in the world of art. As for me, it is simply reassuring when I put down my thoughts and realize that somebody else has felt the same or perhaps the contrary. It is also nice to think that some stranger somewhere will spend time reading my blog, if only to kill time. The best part is that it could be everybody or nobody or anywhere in between…
Between all the blogs in the world, we must have everything we ever need to know or don’t need to know – the good, the bad and the ugly. But somewhere the bottom-line seems to be the creators’ desire to feel that they belong and they matter. Similar to something I read about mobile phones – people use them not just to communicate but to send an implicit message that they also have a social group or at least someone to talk to. Especially in an environment where they feel alienated and uncomfortable, they tend to pick up their mobiles and have lengthy and often meaningless conversations. Quite true, if you ask me; I do it all the time. In a way, my blog is also like that – my place in this world where I decide what can be in and what cannot. (Perhaps wordpress.com has some control over it but that’s fine with me)
That’s a really honest ‘Why i blog?’ essay…And i think i like the new header image more than the one you had in blogspot…
Thanks! I like this image better too :-)
Header Image Gone.

@S: hey! when you write a comment on any of my posts, just below the submit button, there are 2 options – notify of follow-up comments and notify of new posts via mail. Checking the second option should fulfill your wish. Thathasthu!
